Empower RF Systems Announces Milestone and New CEO

INGLEWOOD, CA, December 1, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Empower RF Systems, a leading manufacturer and global provider of solid state power amplifiers and amplifier based solutions celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Company and also announced the appointment of Barry Phelps as CEO, effective November 1, 2009. Entrepreneur and founder of Empower, Efraim (Effi) Bainvoll, is President of the Company and will be leading projects focused on nurturing strong, existing technologies and creating new PA solutions for evolving systems requirements.

Empower’s new CEO, Barry Phelps, has been an Empower Board member since 2007. Barry started his career with the Burroughs Corporation and more recent, executive roles with technology companies include Division President at Spirent Communications, President and CEO of Netcom Systems, and Chairman and CEO of MICOM Communications. Barry also serves on the Board of Directors at St Lawrence University, Breaking Point Systems in Austin, Texas, and US Auto Parts in Carson, California.
